Hi All,
Not sure if many people use this function. Acumatica barcode snanning on purchase receipts requires you to first save the purchase receipt as balanced and then scan receipt number, item codes etc. However problem with this process is you cannot save a receipt without the serial numbers, bins so what's the point of scanning as we have to enter all the information prior to scanning and scanning will only confirm. How do others use scanning purchase receipts?
Thanks
Hi Anita,
Are you referring to barcode scanning with the mobile app or using a handheld barcode scanner attached to a computer, using Acumatica via a web browser?
We are just starting to determine work flow with receiving products from a PO and then adding the serial numbers. We are attempting to import the serial numbers to the purchase receipt using an import scenario. We should have the test done by week's end. Doug
We are scan all Serial number in an excel file. then upload the excel in Purchase Receipt.
Import scenario could work, but everytime you need to run another page to do this process.
We worked with Infosourcing to create a pretty nice customization. We take export the lines from the PR into excel. In excel, we built our own macro that allows us to scan serials for each line of the PR. It does some validations as we scan to for valid item codes (part of the serial number), not enough, or too many scans. We have excel do audible warnings because the receiving guys use wireless scanners and could be away from the computer. From there, we use the Infosourcing customization to import everything into the correct lines of the PR. We also had them do a similar import customization for scanning serials on a pick ticket. We are in the middle of testing the new built in pick, pack, and ship to replace the pick ticket import. We had to do a little customization to pick pack and ship so it wouldn’t force us to scan item codes and serial numbers for every serial number. We just scan the serial number and it figures out the item code.
