I have created a New Idea for one of our customers. The customer has large warehouse operations with several warehouses. The mobile app entry flow does not include Quantity in the entry. We would like it to be added in this function and anywhere else it is an enterable field.

I think this is something we should all collaborate on. I am sure there other changes that we can all work on together.
Mobile App Scan and Transfer - Add Qty into Entry Flow
Problem: The current flow for Scan and Transfer requires a button to be pressed to enter the quantity. I believe that the Quantity Field should be added directly into the flow for this function.
Current Entry Workflow :
- Scan the Barcode of the Original Bin Or Enter Original Bin
- Scan the Barcode of the Destination Bin Or Enter Destination Bin
- Scan the Barcode of the Item Or Enter the Item
Option Buttons: Review Reset Scan Remove Set Qty
Actions: Release
Improved Entry Workflow
- Scan the Barcode of the Original Bin Or Enter Original Bin
- Scan the Barcode of the Item Or Enter the Item
- Scan the Barcode of the Destination Bin Or Enter Destination Bin
- Enter Quantity

1 Currently there are setting to alter the functionality of mobile warehouse functions. In Inventory, Purchase Order Preferences, Sales Order Preferences. New Setting On/Off Add Quantity to Mobile workflow.
- Expected Behavior This change would allow Quantity to be entered in the same way, as it currently behaves for Original Bin, Item, Destination Bin.
- Additional Changes. You will note I changed the original flow slightly. Original bin, then Item. The reason for this change is if the Original bin does not have the item an error occurs. Less entry if there is a problem.
4 Quantity should be editable after entered until it is released. This allows the warehouse team member to easily correct errors.
It would be nice if Acumatica paid more attention to their WMS product, especially after they jumped into the WMS game without alerting their ISV partners:

@mcraig What do you think of the revamped WMS in Acumatica 2021 R2? I'm especially interested in the new Picking Queue (SO503080) screen mentioned in the Release Notes pictured below which updates in real-time without needing to refresh the browser, making it perfect for displaying on a large screen in the warehouse.
@timrodman I like the picking Que. I think our customers will like it. Great move by Acumatica. I have watched the presentations. I have been looking for customization for flipping to the new wms workflow engine. Available in 21R1 /21R2. Do you happen to know where to find it?

@timrodman Activating New Operations WMS engine
Sorry I thought it was related to workflows. Basically, if you have an existing customer using wms. When you upgraded to 21R1 or 21R2 it defaulted to the old Operations WMS Engine. To play with the new Operations wms engine you have to activate it.
@mcraig Ah, I didn't know about this. This looks like a similar concept to the new Workflow Engine, but it has a different name so it seems like something different. I'd love to learn more about this.
Are you planning to customize using C# code? If not, I don't think you need to worry about this.
@timrodman This was announced a while back and I understood it to be WorkFlow engine. But after closer examination like you said it isn't clear what it is. What I do know is that going forward in 21R1 /21R2. There will be two streams on known issues. If an issue is fixed in the new engine. It will not be fixed in the old one. This was outlined. In the presentation yesterday, again they mentioned customization that will flip existing customers to the new engine or back. I really do not know why they didn't add it to the enable /disable features screen. I am not a c programmer. Cobal yes. If the customer is currently using wms, then on upgrade they will use the old wms engine. New customers without wms previously will go into new wms engine. I wanted to test some of our wms customers customizations. With the thought of after testing possibly upgrading them. If we do we will ask for a sandbox.
@mcraig This is very interesting. I think it's a great sign that the WMS is substantial, with more investment than I thought. I hope they keep improving.

Step-by-step guide
How to switch the legacy WMS engine back off:
publish the LegacyWMSSwitch.zip package
go to Inventory Preferences (IN101000) screen
open the Warehouse Management tab
switch the Use Legacy Engine flag off
go to Apply Updates (SM203510) screen
click the Reset Caches action
unpublish the LegacyWMSSwitch package and remove it from the site

After you follow the steps when you uninstall the customization the Check box in the Inventory Preferences, Warehouse is no longer available.
It is Paperless Picking is available in the new WMS engine only. That is how you tell you are in the new wms engine. You do not see it otherwise. This customization you would also use to change a customer back to the old wms engine. Matt

Hi all,
When using mobile scanner to do an inventory or PO receipt, you go through a number of scans and then get to scan lot/serial numbers for items. If an item is set to auto generate it's lot number how does it work? You want the system to generate the next number based on your lot/serial class settings. However, system prompts you to enter a serial number when processing the receipt which we don't want. This should be generated by the system. How does everyone else handle this?
