Last week was a success! 10 people made the trip to Columbus, Ohio for my 2 day class on Building Generic Inquiries & Pivot Tables in Acumatica.
I used the same content that I developed for AUG Summit 2022 in Atlanta (and that content was taken from my video training course), but I added in some additional exercises for OData with Excel, Business Events with Import Scenarios, and the new Acumatica 2024 R1 feature that allows you to use a Generic Inquiry in another Generic Inquiry.
I’ve done a lot of Acumatica training events in the past (in Washington DC, Seattle, San Diego, Houston, Germany, Atlanta, etc.), but it was always part of an event that was organized by an event team so I didn’t have to deal with event logistics.
This was the first time that I did an event on my own. It was nerve-racking having to put the deposit down on a room, then crossing my fingers and hoping that enough people would show up to make the endeavor profitable. But it worked out!
Now that I’ve done it once, I know that I can do it again. And I definitely plan to.
It was not lost on me that last week was the 2 year anniversary of AUG Summit 2022 in Atlanta so multiple times I had the thought that last week was a tribute to Joel Gress and the team at SWK who put on that Atlanta event 2 years ago. Obviously though, my event was MUCH smaller.
It was also not lost on me that last week was 9/11 and the 2nd day of class was on 9/11, but those were the only consecutive days that the room that I wanted was available. Also, my birthday is on D-Day every year so I’ve learned that it’s possible to observe two things on the same day: one solemn and one joyful. Although, the older I get, those two events on June 06 are both becoming solemn observations 😀
Anyways, thank you to everyone who came last week and thank you for all the feedback that you sent me. I will definitely be combing through that feedback to make the class even better the next time I offer it.
