We recently built a new employee hire list of customer inside Smartsheet. They use it as a template and each time they bring on a new hire, they walk through the checklist ensuring all internal steps are completed. Several of these steps happen within Acumatica. (Create an employee, create a user, create a salesperson, assign them to the Company Tree, place them in an approval map, set up Exchange account, add as a contact to a Business Account, etc.)
We created each of these steps with hyperlinks to the appropriate Acumatica url mapping for their site. However, each time uses it, they get a login prompt for every link. This happens even if the user is already logged into Acumatica.
This leads me to two questions:
1) Is there a way to keep this default behavior from happening? If the user is already logged into the same site, why the new credential interrogation?
2) Is there a way to embed credentials into the hyperlink? (I'm a little queasy about this one but the idea would be that the hyperlink would include credentials for an account with predefined restrictions.ย However, the credentials would need to be encrypted to be a viable option.)
Hmmm, this sounds strange. When I embed hyperlinks in Excel, they open in Acumatica without a login prompt as long as I'm already logged in. This leads me to believe that Smartsheet is doing something to the URL. Can you right-click on one of the URLs and copy to the clipboard, then paste into Notepad to see if Smartsheet is adding anything superfluous?
By the way, I'm so happy that I found a way to use "superfluous" in a sentence ๐
