Hello Everyone,
I'm wondering if there is a way to upload a Payroll Journal Entry into Acumatica from Excel.
Here is a sample Payroll Journal Entry:
But, in reality, my Payroll Journal Entry is much more complicated than this.
Also, all my calculations are done in Excel so it would be nice to just upload the result from Excel.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Hi Piggy,
Yes, you can definitely do this. Actually, you can do this whenever you see the following icon on a screen:
What I recommend doing is entering a simple journal entry like you already did above, then exporting it to Excel with the Export to Excel button like this:
The exported Excel file will look something like this:
But you don't need all of the columns. Maybe pair it down to something like this:
Then do a new Journal Entry and use the Load Records from File button like this:
Click the Choose File button to browse to your Excel file, then click the UPLOAD button to upload it:
There are some settings that you can explore, but you can ignore them and click the OK button for this exercise:
Then, if you had named the Excel columns something different than the column names in Acumatica, you could map them here, but we don't need to do anything because our exported Excel file kept the same names for us. We just need to click the OK button.
And, bam, just like that our Journal Entry has been populated from Excel.
Thank you!
Seems simple enough. I'm just going to modify my Payroll Journal Entry template to have these new column names and that should give me what I need going forward.
