Site Map and Modern UI issues
I have been running into issues with our Site map and also the Modern UI. We are on Acumatica ERP 2018R2 (18.206.0011) and (not too relevant?) looking to update to 2020R1 at the end of this month.
Anyways, we are having issues in the modern UI where user's favorites, as well as other screens, will suddenly 'disappear' from their spots in the modern UI, and I have to go in to the menu edit and add them back. It has mostly been Generic Inquiries, however it has happened to a few of our custom pages as well.
Recently, the Site Map has been acting up as well. Occasionally, a screen sub-group (Distribution -> Sales Orders -> Work Area -> Explore) will move to the root directory of the site map, and in the classic UI it appears as an item in the top main navigation bar, while also causing the screens in that sub-group to be removed from any spots in the Modern UI. This seems to be the root problem, but I have no idea why or how this would be happening. This hasn't just happened to the sub-group above, although it has happened concurrently to other 'Explore' sub-groups, as well as a custom titled sub-group. This past weekend we had 3 explore groups moved to our site map root.
We have meticulously kept track of our user access rights for roles and screens, but I don't think access rights would have to do with the site map changing.
Has anyone ran into this issue? Any advice for how to solve it?
I'm fairly optimistic that you won't experience this problem in 2020 R1 because in 2019 R2 they completely ripped out the Classic UI (as far as I can tell). The problem in your current 2018 R2 environment is that both the Modern UI and the Classic UI exist simultaneously.
I'd also say to anyone else looking for this issue to check your Customization projects. If you are adding things to the site map in the customization, things can get weird sometimes after you publish. This process is definitely better after upgrading to 2020R1 though for us as well.
