Has anyone implemented an approval methodology for entering Journal Transactions? Since Acumatica does not support approval maps in the Journal Transactions screen, we typically handle this through user security (i.e. data entry user cannot release entries, where approval user can only release entries).
Has anyone come up with a more sophisticated solution for this?

User security is the method that I use too.
It looks like journal entry approvals is a pretty popular feature request:
