We have a customer that inputs orders months in advance. Some orders will have individual line items that need to be shipped/installed at different times, perhaps a month or two apart. In Acumatica you have the option to set the "Requested on" date for each line item to a future date, however this does not change the way Acumatica calculates availability. For instance, if I have 100 widgets and I enter an order with 50 widgets but assign the requested on date to January of next year, the available quantity still shows 50 instead of 100, even though the "request" is in the future.
In a legacy ERP they have used, we have a concept of "Future Commit", where you could specify the "requested on" date per line item and the system would not trigger the allocation of inventory until that date.
My question is. . .Is there a way to use the "requested on" date in Acumatica to achieve the same result?
If not, is anyone aware of a work-around?
Thanks
Hi @scottgaspar,
Not that I can think of. I don't think Available Quantity cares about dates, just quantities.
