hi,
I have an inventory adjustment that i get an error on release
IN Error: Updating item '----' in warehouse '--- ' caused cost to quantity imbalance.
Does anyone have experience with this error or what to check for?
The inventory valuation is standard cost
Thanks
Hey Charlier, welcome to AUG Forums and Happy New Year!
Couple of questions here:
1. Are you simply doing a cost adjustment or are you also adjusting the quantity? If you are only doing a cost adjustment there must be an on hand quantity greater than zero for the item(s) being adjusted.
2. Are any of the items in the adjustment details lot or serial tracked? Do you have a lot/serial number populated on all applicable lines?
HI Kevin thank you and Happy New Year.
I kind of figured this one out, here are the details
We just switch form Average to Standard Cost, and no Serial tracking.
It all started with updating standard cost on a list of items screen (IN502000) then the system automatically creates an IN ADJ and releases it,
The problem was the IN ADJ didn’t release for some reason at the time we realized that there was already inventory movement, so the cost the system was trying to adjust was not equal anymore to Qty OnHand * Current Cost
What I did was I ran the inventory valuation report and on a GI I got the Qty OnHand * Current Cost and where ever there was a difference I changed the cost on the IN ADJ
I still have problems with a small list of items but their costs match up, I have Acu support on it
Thanks
I wonder if the Validate Inventory (IN505000) screen might help to get quantities and costs back in sync again.
