Hey all!

Me again! I am trying to build a GI to help our customer service department quickly handle problems with orders that come down from our website. The Side Panel would be extremely helpful here so they could quickly go down a list of orders to make changes and move to the next. However, the reason that we can't actually use it is because once an order has been changed, they have to leave an activity. I notice when you pull up sales orders on the side panel, you don't have access to see notes or activities. Which I can understand because they aren't necessarily part of that screen... But I'm wondering if there is any way of getting these to show up here? Or if anyone would have an idea of how to access them in another side panel / add them as a secondary side panel?

Thanks everyone!

I can't think of a way unfortunately. I think your best bet will be to use the Window Mode option of New Tab on the NAVIGATION tab of the Generic Inquiry (SM208000) screen so at least it will pop open the Sales Order without you losing your place in the Generic Inquiry.

I'm curious though, have you considered using the Audit History functionality to track when certain things change on a Sales Order? If the Activities that they are adding just say things like "changed the Unit Price from 50 to 60" or "added line 3" then that is all stuff that could be tracked automatically by the Audit History functionality.

How do you use Audit History?

When I click on Audit History, I only get a summary. When I click on Enable Field Level Audit, it just pulls up a data list.

Hi Tami,

You have to go Table by Table, Field by Field, and decide which fields you want to audit. You don't want to track everything or you will bring the system to a grinding halt.

Just check the Fields that you want to track changes on. Once you do this, you'll get a different pop-up window than the Update History window that you see now.

I don't get any other pop-up. And yes, I do have the "ENABLE FIELD-LEVEL AUDIT" rights.

Did you check the Active checkbox on any of the Tables in your first screenshot above? You're in the right place, but I don't see Active checked for any Tables.
