I'm pretty new at this, and have written a few GIs that, for the most part, I'm pleased with. But, and I hope this is a simple question, but how do I get a total?
Say I've got a simple GI, maybe all open sales orders. How do I total at the end (or the beginning is fine) of all of the total amounts that are listed? I've tried aggregate, aggregate on separate line, etc. all to no avail.
Help!
You and me both Dan. I wish it would display a total. This is actually a fairly popular request. You can add your vote here:

Note, the suggestion has been out there for almost three years at this point:
But I feel pretty confident that this will eventually get added because Acumatica has paid a lot of attention to Generic Inquiries and they continue to make them better.
Wow--so surprised. Thanks.
This is now at 63 votes, enough to land in the top 10 of most popular ideas.
I'm a bit late to the party, but as @timrodman said, it's not an option. However, you can add the totals via the report writer if you're comfortable making a report out of your GI.
I believe they demo'd this at Summit as a new feature in 2019 R1. You will have to upgrade to get there, but seems long awaited.
I noticed it during the Summit too. Looks like it's now a feature in Acumatica 2019 R1.
Here is a screenshot picture that I took during the keynote at the Summit:
I just checked my own 2019 R1 environment. Looks pretty easy to use.
Just use the Total Aggregate Function field on the RESULTS GRID tab of the Generic Inquiries (SM208000) screen to define the total like this:
Then it will appear in the new Totals area for the Generic Inquiry:
Hi to all!!
So, I created this GI (attached picture) to compare current daily sales with daily sales last year. It's working like a charm! However I would like to have a total amount for all the Salespersons at the bottom:
Is it possible? If it is, how?
Thanks in advance!
