I am trying to find a way to concatenate the account/ subaccount description for the description column.
The client needs to be able to expand the accounts by sub-account but in many cases this shows only the subaccount description of "default subaccount" which is less than useful for the client.
Anyone have suggestions on this topic? I am currently trying to work on an Iif statement to achieve this but am not getting the desired results at this point
In my haste to post this topic, I failed to mention what is likely very obvious, but I am trying to write this formula using the Analytical Report Writer, and am looking to add the Iif statement to the column set in a similar manor to out of the box Balance sheet description function. In the case of the OTB formula it looks to see if there is an expansion function on the row, and if there is a description set, then use that, if not then use the Row description within the Row Set. In the current scenario, the client has a "very" large row sets that need to expand on the Subaccount but in many cases such as when using an account class expansion, you then only get the subaccount description which is not as informative as the account description. So if there is a way that the account description could be combined with the subaccount code, that would be ideal.
I don't know of a way to do this without Velixo Reports. It either expands on Account or Subaccount, but not both.
Hi Tim,
We have come to the same conclusion.
Thank you for the comments.
