January 23, 2019 by Tim Rodman

Query Quarry for Acumatica ERP helps you get started with Acumatica Generic Inquiries, Pivot Tables, Dashboards, Business Events, & Excel / Power BI OData.

Update December 07, 2019: Query Quarry is now part of AUG Courses (click here)

You have spent a lot of time, energy, and money implementing Acumatica ERP in your organization with the focus on getting data into Acumatica.

Now you find yourself needing to get data out of Acumatica. But you might find that the report you need is not available out-of-the-box.

The Acumatica reporting strategy is to use Generic Inquiries as the reporting foundation and allow you to build things like Dashboards, Pivot Tables, and Business Events on top of those Generic Inquiries. You can also enable a Generic Inquiry for OData to build reports with Microsoft Excel and Power BI that can be refreshed automatically.

AUG Query Quarry

The goal of Query Quarry is to help you get data out of Acumatica by making it easier to create Acumatica Dashboards, Pivot Tables, and Business Events or utilize tools like Excel and Power BI.

What is Query Quarry?

  1. Query Quarry is the most affordable reporting investment you can make for Acumatica, with the goal of reaching EVERY SINGLE Acumatica customer.
  2. Query Quarry is a powerful set of Generic Inquiries. Generic Inquiries are the foundation of the Acumatica reporting strategy, but too often you find that you have to create the Generic Inquiry yourself because the one you need doesn’t exist. This is frustrating, especially knowing that someone else has probably already created the Generic Inquiry that you are looking for.
  3. Query Quarry is a Community where Query Quarry members can access exclusive content and share the things that they have built on the Query Quarry foundational Generic Inquiries. Don’t build Dashboards, Pivot Tables, Business Events, and Excel / Power BI reports by yourself, alone in your cubicle with no one to talk to. Interact with other Query Quarry members to ask questions and share what you built so you can get feedback.
  4. Query Quarry is constantly evolving, with regular new additions to the foundational Generic Inquiries.

Not many people want to work in a dirty Quarry. They want to take what was extracted from the Quarry and build something cool with it. Like maybe granite counter tops? 🙂

Let me do the “dirty” work so you can do the “cool” work by leveraging Query Quarry for all of your Dashboard, Pivot Table, and Business Event needs. You can also get started faster with Business Intelligence using Microsoft Excel and Power BI by building upon the Query Quarry foundation.

I’m currently hard at work building the first version of Query Quarry. You can track my progress on the spreadsheet below. On the right is the list of Generic Inquiries that I’m targeting for Query Quarry Version 1 (including whether they are Done or not). On the left is the number of fields that are included in each Generic Inquiry.
