I've been wondering about this for a while, but hadn't taken the time to try it with a regular Office 365 account.
When Acumatica sends email, I always thought it would be cool if it landed in the Sent Items folder in Outlook of that email account, especially when you're using a person's regular email account.
I wasn't optimistic because the field on the System Email Accounts (SM204002) screen says Outgoing server port (SMTP) and I thought that you had to use IMAP, not SMTP, to get the email to land in Sent Items.
But I was happy to learn that I was wrong!
Here are some of the settings on the System Email Accounts (SM204002) screen in an environment where the user says that email sent by Acumatica is also landing in their Sent Items folder in Outlook.
SERVERS -> Outgoing Mail Server :: outlook.office365.com
SERVERS -> Outgoing server port (SMTP) :: 587
SERVERS -> Outgoing server encrypted connection :: TLS
Timeout :: 1 Minute
Tim,
thanks for the tip. We tried it on our installation and it still does not put the email in the sent items folder. We'll keep investigating but at least there is some hope that this can be done!
Thanks!
