I have a customer that wants to track scrap on components. It appears that we can only scrap finished goods in the production process in Acumatica. We can over issue components to the production order, and throw a variance on the job, but we can't find a good way to scrap an individual component and keep track of that. Any ideas on how we can accomplish this and still keep the actual cost on the job that includes the scrap component? Every workaround I have thought of will impact the job cost.
There's the Scrap Factor field on the Bill of Material (AM208000) screen, but as far as I know it only increases the quantity required for the Production Order. It sounds like you want two Inventory Issue documents to automatically be generated: one that issues to the Production Order and one that issues to a Reason Code and GL Account. I'm not sure how to do that without customization.
