I have a client who has 6 seperate companies but doesn't like the fact these 6 companies share the same inventory. Has anyone found a way or created a customization to limit the inventory access to specific customer based on their company or restriction access?
Just limiting which Inventory IDs (SKUs) are visible in certain companies?
No, limiting which items a specific customer can purchase (Sales Order). Right now ACU shares inventory between all companies and branches. My client has customer to one of their companies but not the others. We are trying to find a way to restrict a specific group of items which customer #1 can buy but customer #2 cannot buy.
I am surprised this hasn't been a request with other clients. I couldn't find anything on your forum or the Acumatica community. Do you think a customization could be built to handle this?
Wyatt-erp is talking about a customization, I'm almost certain and manipulating the code. Restriction groups do this work for the portal, since the customer is now tied to a user. The ability to do this is on the portal where the customer places orders directly is only pretty recent, so apparently there is not much demand for restricting products by customer, which is shocking to me. Wish I could help more, but did want to mention the portal for anyone else out there. Good luck.
