Hi All

I am new to Acumatica, and am very hopeful that a kind soul out there can help with a challenge I am having.

I am trying to report on pick and ship activities completed in the warehouse, which as best as I can see is information which is contained in the audit history on a sales order (see attached).

I have had no luck in retrieving this information from the SOOrderShipment DAC - please could someone point me in the right direction ?

Thanks

Dom

What are you trying to accomplish and what isn't working?

I am trying to report on the number of activities completed in the warehouse per person, per day in order to measure productivity of the warehouse team.

Do you know of an easier way for me to do this ?

When you say report, do you mean use an existing report or do you mean build something in GI or Report Designer? If the latter, do you have any experience in either of those tools?

Royce, I can see doing this with a dashboard based upon multiple GI's pulling data from each transaction file involved.

I was hoping to do this with a GI, so my apologies for the confusion. GI = report in my world.

I'd love to hear your take on how to do it - Thanks in advance

As we don't use our warehouse in the way you do i can't help you with a specific example. Did you have a GI that you already wrote that wasn't working? Perhaps you could share screenshots.

Hey Royce

I have managed to get the GI for the pick event working correctly, and I am getting the expected results.

My issue now is mainly around the dispatched event, which happens after picking has been completed.

I am using - PX.Objects.SO.SOOrderShipment as I as was able to extract some of the information I needed from here. On the attached screenshot, there are 2 dates highlighted - Ideally, I would like to report on the blue event but I need the user from the yellow event date. By my logic, the difference between the 2 dates would be the duration of the dispatch.

Perhaps I should also ask the question in a different way - how would you report on information which is visible in the audit history of an order ?

Thanks

Dom

You got me there Dom, we don't use Audits.

But are the Audits the only way you can get the desired reporting outcome? Or to put it another way, can you not get the information you need from the base Acumatica tables without using Audits?

Ideally yes, thats what I would like to do. I am only using the audit table to try and guide me through the process as I am new the to AC scene. I am struggling to find a point in the data that reflects the point of dispatch, and isnt modified by any billing activities ...

I could possibly use some information from the InTran table at very worst case, but I would need to count distinct on the order number - I only see count in the aggregation drop down 🙁

You won't get very far trying to apply conditions to aggregates in GI and anyway, as you already know, there's no distinct option.

What kind of "activities" do you want to report on? Are you just looking to count Shipment records? Shipment Line records?

Correct Tim - I am trying to understand how many shipments (which is split into 2 different activities in our world - pick and then dispatch) are completed by user ...

@dominic-albrecht, to make sure the correct things are monitored, is the following translation of your process terms to Acumatica processes correct?

Pick = Create Shipment

Dispatch = Commit Shipment

If so, you can look at the creation record tags for each shipment as well as the last update user/date tags for all committed shipments.  Just a thought.

Thanks everyone - it seems like some of the customization that was done on our instance has resulted in this being a little more complex. We have been advised that it should be easier to achieve once we have upgraded to 2019R1 (currently 2018R2) - not sure if this makes sense to anyone here ?

Alternatively, we would need a little dev work done which would result in username from the yellow highlight in my earlier screenshot, being allocated to the blue highlighted action.

Does Shawn's reasoning seem correct or close to correct? It sure would be cleaner not to have to use audit history data.
