Hi,
A customer of ours is in the contracting business. When they work on a project they create an opportunity for that customer (Business Account). This customer has other 3rd party vendors that work on the same project which are not related to the customer here but they do have email exchanges related to the project. These vendors could be working with this customer on various projects for various customers. Hence, the need to tie emails from them to opportunities. These 3rd party vendors are created as Business Account-Prospect and contacts(vendor employees) are added to them. However, from the outlook add-in you can select opportunities only that are tied to the business account the contact is associated with. Has anyone figured a work around where you can log an email to an opportunity irrespective of the business account?
You can select a different contact than the default selected one. i.e. I get a forwarded email from another internal employee about an opportunity that I'm working on. When I click on the Acumatica Add-In, in the first field of the side-bar I can select a different person (the one that has the opportunity associated with them). This would get the emails on to the opportunity, but not it wouldn't be linked to the sender's contact or business account.
I haven't tested this, but maybe you could set up some relationships between the business accounts on the "Relations" tab of the Contacts and Business Accounts and maybe this would make things work?
