It really pains me to say this, but the tracking feature in Sage 100 is something that would be really nice in Acumatica. The "other systems" process uses iship, https://iship.com/trackit/track.aspx , from within the application to track the package; No cut and paste requirement. It also allows the tracking of various carriers without having to visit their specific site. There is a currently a topic of feedback for this with quite a few votes, but its still future consideration: https://feedback.acumatica.com/?category=6085712929637750016.

So....has anyone done anything to customize this to allow tracking from the packages screen. I know and have added hyperlinks to the printed form, but the use case here is the customer service team fielding calls end users and customers who are not going to do this on their own ๐

We have done that for a Client but FYI I just dealt with the requirement and I don't know how the sausage was made. ๐ Here is how I think it was constructed.
We put the tracker # in the standard field then wrote it to a custom field with the url wrapped around it. If I recall correctly we also setup the base tracker URL's for each carrier of the Client in a config table so if they change we can just go there and change it instead of diving into code.
It does require a Customization but I hope this gives you a path forward until Acu adds it as a standard feature.
