My Item Codes have underscores in the IDs. I know that this is bad practice, but I can't change them now and need to import them into Acumatica.
I try to type in an underscore in the Inventory ID field of the Stock Items screen, but it won't let me type it in. It won't advance to the next character.
Does anyone know if it's possible to allow the entry of underscores in the Inventory ID field?
Hi Piggy,
If you go to the Segmented Keys screen and put INVENTORY in the Segmented Key ID field...
Then click the icon in the upper left-hand corner of the grid and add the Prompt Character column like shown here:
In the screenshot above you can see the default Prompt Character value which is an underscore. This is the reason why you can't type an underscore in that field. It's a special character.
If you want to be able to type an underscore, you just need to pick a new Prompt Character value. I'm picking @, but you could choose whatever you want:
Now, with my @ Prompt Character, I can enter an underscore in the Inventory ID field on the Stock Items screen like this:
Exactly what I was looking for. This will work great. Thank you.
Sorry to revive such an old thread, is there anyway to do this for ship via carriers?
We are having issues mapping ship vias into shipstation, so we are hopping that we can rename our ship vias to match what shipstation wants to see so we can skip a translation/mapping/routing through some other middleware.
Thanks in advance.
