We have been looking at upgrading from Acumatica 2019 R1 to version 2020 R2 but have heard there is some functionality that could be going away.
Is anybody aware of them doing anything to the CR (Cash return) process or changing it?
It sounded like Acumatica was going to work with a different vendor and do a point of sale integration but forgo cash return?
Can someone provide some clarification if I am off base or what the change is or why Acumatica decided to change that transaction type?
@Brent Leis, I heard Acumatica have acquired this solution from IIG for a fast POS solution, https://www.iigservices.com/acumatica-point-of-sale-credit-card
As for order type CR - if Acumatica have taken it away can it not be recreated as a new order type?
I still see CR - Cash Return in the Order Types (SO201000) screen in my Acumatica 2020 R2 (20.204.0032) demo environment:
As for POS, back at the Acumatica 2020 R2 Virtual Launch event (click here), Acumatica announced Acumatica Point of Sale (POS).
During acuConnect 2020 in early November, Acumatica CEO Jon Roskill clarified that it isn't designed for Retail (click here).
Doug Johnson created a private page (click here) on the new Acumatica Community website that you can access after logging in which explains the offering in more detail. Apparently it's actually a 3rd party product from IIG (click here) like @kingcarlos mentioned that is being sold on the Acumatica price list.
I've also heard good things about 1Retail Point of Sale (click here), although I haven't used it personally.
@TimRodman - the 1Retail POS solution is very good and the feedback we have from our MYOB Advanced users is positive.
