Questions Item Class reporting based on parent class

I am wanting to create sales profitability report, that groups records by the parent Item Class and all of the children within the parent Item Class.  The Item Class has been setup with two segments and I want to be able to report at a parent and child level. I am unable to find a data table which allows me to report at this level. Has anyone else been successfully in creating a report at a parent Item Class level?
 
In my example below, I want to report on the parent and the children item classes as a single entity.
