I’m trying to create a live sales dashboard for our office. So that if an order is entered into Acumatica, the dashboard is updated.
I have tried to do this using both Excel and PowerBI. With both systems, I have connected up an oData feed, and created graphs using this oData.
Then to display these graphs, I put the Excel sheet onto my OneDrive, open it using Excel Online, and Chromecast it to the TV screen in the office. With PowerBI, I publish the graphs to a dashboard, and Chromecast this.
However, I can’t get either of these dashboards to refresh.
Power Update seemed like the answer to this. I’ve tried to get around this issue using the Power Update software, but I can't really figure it out. Is there a detailed user guide available for Power Update? Or has anyone got any tips as to how to get these dashboards to refresh?
Have you looked at a browser plugin to refresh the page every few seconds? It's not perfect but it may get the job done.

I did some further research as to this, and found this video: Excel Online Web App and Acumatica by Tim Rodman
. Thanks Tim, it helped heaps.
From this video I realised I hadn’t ticked the save password box on Excel. This had meant Excel Online wouldn’t refresh the data at all.
But now with this ticked, Power Update running, and a browser tab refresh plugin (thanks Kurt for this idea), the live dashboard is all up and running!
Awesome Daniel. I love hearing this! You are the second person I have heard of who is doing this. Kevin is also doing this (click here).
