Dear Fellow Learners,
First of all, thank you for joining my first course:
Building Generic Inquiries & Pivot Tables
I'd love to hear your feedback:
1. Feedback on your purchase experience. We use Stripe to process credit card payments. Was it intuitive? Did it appear on your credit card statement as "AUGFORUMS.COM COURSES"? Did you wish you could have paid with something other than a credit card? Is the purchase documentation enough for getting an expense reimbursement from your company?
2. Feedback on the existing course content. Are the videos what you expected? How is the pace? Are the topics too simple? Too complex?
3. Feedback on the course environment, video player, etc. Do you like the look and feel? Is the video/audio quality good? Do you like playing videos slower/faster than normal speed? Have you tried watching a video on your phone?
4. Feedback on the course flow. Is the Foundational Area of the Course missing anything that you'd like to see included? Is coverage in a particular area too light and needs more Lessons? How is the overall "flow"?
I'm interested in both positive AND negative feedback. Don't be shy, you won't hurt my feelings. I want to make things better. Some things I'll be able to accommodate, some things I won't. But it doesn't hurt to ask!
Final note: In case you're wondering why the URL for this Discussion Topic ends with "dear-10-test-drivers", that's because I originally invited 10 people to take this course and I used this Discussion Topic to get feedback from those 10 people. I incorporated the feedback into the course that you see today, but I'd like to continue to evolve by continuing to listen to your feedback.
I finished the first segment. Here my comments:
- It is perfect how / where you started. Basic. Simple. Top overview.
- Your “style” is perfect. Just the right amount of slowness. You are giving me a chance to understand and think, without boring me. Great pacing.
- You are giving me the right amount of information in the module. I can watch one (or two) and fit them in my schedule.

Re: Sorting and Quick Search:
1. Great foundation overview. The quick search "modification" was especially helpful. Without knowing the quick search may not cover all columns, I would never have understand why an items showed up and why it did not. Thank you.
Thanks so much for the feedback Doug. Let me know if you have any suggestions about how to make AUG Courses better.
Tim:
I finished the third section Filtering and Quick Filters. Here are my thoughts:
1. Great pacing
2. I am happy to understand I can change / modify Quick Filters in Customization.
Tim:
I finished "Saved Filters". Here are my thoughts:
1. It is hard to find things wrong with the presentations so far.
2. This Saved Filters is very helpful. We will use Saved Filters all of the time.
3. Do you think we could use Saved Filters / Sorting to do the following> We want each individual sales person when they open the customer browser, to see only his / her customers. (unless the filter is taken off). And to see his / her customers filtered / sorted different ways:
A. Filter: Just Customers or Just Prospects
B. Sort: Days since last Customer order: Ordered by how long it has been since the Customer placed an order. (Days since the most recent invoice.)
C. Sot: Number of Days the Customer Order is Overdue: We will have an Attribute Field for each customer that has our projected number of days between a customers orders. Generally from 3 days to 90 days. The customers would be ordered in the Customer Browser by how many days the projected order is overdue. So if we project a customer will order each 7 days, and the it has been 10 days since an order, the Customers order is 3 days overdue.
Can we do this kind of filtering and sorting? And with a click of a button the salespersons customers are filtered and sorted these ways?
3. Are you using the Owner field on the Business Accounts (CR303000) screen to determine which Salesperson a customer "belongs" to?
A. You could apply a saved filter on the BAccount.Type field to achieve this.
B & C. Getting Last Customer Order is trickier. Let me see if I can incorporate a Lesson on this in the 6. Adding Relations section.
Tim:
I have finished Resizing / Rearranging / Hiding Columns. Great program. Here are my thoughts:
1. A great "blocking and tackling" module.
2. I assume each change if saved properly will be saved for just the one person's browser. Is there a way to save changes for everyone in the company (for example all salespersons)? How?
Doug
When you make changes in "run mode", they get saved to the User who is logged in.
When you make changes using Customization -> Edit Generic Inquiry, they get stored centrally as the default for all Users.
Tim:
I finished the Additional Navigation Options module. Here are my thoughts:
1. Great way to close out the series.
2. The basic things you are teaching are the things I want to use everyday. So the content is spot on point. Thank you.
Tim:
I finished the module Your First Pivot Table. Here are my thoughts:
1. I have never used a pivot table before. My office manager does them for me. Your module is easy enough for me to understand that I did my first two pivot tables in Acumatica. Customers count by city and Customer count by license type. It worked. Thank you.
2. The Pivot Table module is the most valuable module yet. WOW. So helpful to me.

I finished Pivot Table Columns and Properties. Here are my thoughts:
1. Great presentation for someone like me that has never created pivot tables. Just the right amount of information
2. I especially like that you showed the viewer how to widen columns, and add and delete totals. And where that is done.
Tim
I finished Formatting Data in Pivot Tables . Great course
1. Very useful module.
2. I wish you would have provided a link to the different "codes" you can use to change date fields. You gave examples of "d" and "D". I would like to know more codes.

Doug,
Thanks for the continued feedback.
Regarding formatting codes, absolutely. Check the Course Outline link at the top of this Discussion Topic. I'll be adding an Appendix section with written lessons. That way they won't get buried in the rest of the video lessons. The written lessons will be a place for me to compile written examples of different things like formatting.
I thought the lessons were very well presented. I loved how short they were, I was able to fit one or two in between tasks. I am similar to you and had most of the videos on 2x speed. I didn't listen to any at normal speed but if I did I think I would say you moved too slowly. The purchase and receipt aspect were fine, nothing I could suggest improving. I was given enough information to be expensed by my company.
The videos were pretty simple but as a new user to Acumatica I thought there were simple (not to assume everyone already understand everything) but complex enough I learned something new.
I did not try watching on phone. Both audio and video were great.
A suggestion I would make moving forward on lessons is continue to show the tips and tricks. The main reason I paid to take this course is because of how much I enjoyed your Acumatica training videos were. I loved how to took small but worthwhile tangents showing tips, tricks, and shortcuts to day to day working in Acumatica. Even though you did show some in the videos I would love to see more.
