I have a generic inquiry linked to Sales Orders. Each line in a SO becomes its own line in my generic inquiry. I would like to have an empty cell column in my generic inquiry where I can add some text manually. Is that possible?
Closest I've gotten is being able to update the description of the SO through the generic inquiry, but that's unnecessarily complicated. I just want a simple empty text box for me to write some text which do not influence anything else in the program.
Sadly the "note" linked to the SO line is already often taken by other relevant information, so I can't use that.
Thanks in advance!
Do you want the data to be saved in the database against the relevant sceen?
Can you add a custom field to the relevant screen and include that in your inquiry?
Other than Notes you can't modify the results of a Generic Inquiry. You could always use tags inside notes to segregate data.
Have you tried adding a UDF and attaching a side panel to your GI? Your team would still need to type each SO individually, but they could stay on the GI and just open the side panel. And with an additional UDF, you won't be taking up space in the notes field.
We use this method to track supply issues. As with most industries, finding stock to sell is difficult. So we added UDFs and tied it to the Sales Orders screen to quickly capture notes on each order. Hope this helps.
