We have a report that we utilize in my of our customer sites where we will design a trialing 12 month report.
The column sets are designed to be offset by fixed period intervals in the data source settings in each column. However, we are getting more and more requests to suppress the 13th period when one is being used. Does anyone know how to suppress a column based upon the period?
The challenge is this is not being run at year end, they are continually running this report each month so as they progress through their financial year the location of the 13th period shifts based on the current period.
Any ideas?
Hi Chip,
There's currently no way to have a formula in the offset property of the data source and no way to skip period 13 in an ARM column set.
It's not the first time I hear this request and I took the liberty to record a quick tutorial of how to achieve this using the Velixo Excel reporting add-on. You can see the demo here:
I have also attached the spreadsheet used in the video demo.
Hi Gabriel,
I had a very strong feeling that I would not be able to achieve this, but was hoping some savy AUG Forums user may have created an interesting IIF statement to make a dynamic formula.
I will let the client know that if they would like to make this a dynamic function they should consider the Velixo product.
Thank you @Gabriel
