I have a P&L with YTD+PTD Actuals/Budgets
The report has a final column ' Full Year Budget'
Currently the row set is coded to use the final period of the current financial year which produces the correct data but I don't fancy having to update the row set for the start of every year (or running in to problems when the report is run for last year, etc.).
Any advice on setup for row set data for turnover to end of current financial year
Do you have a screenshot of the report? It seems funny to me that the period filter is getting applied to the Row Set rather than the Column Set, but I'm probably missing something that a screenshot could clear up.
This is real issue. Some Companies show YTD and PTD comparisons on their Income Statement, but prefer Current YTD Actual to 12/31 of the prior year comparison - i.e. how much have balances changed from Previous EOY - for their Balance Sheet.
The report column headings can be handled perpetually by using =Format( '{0: MM/d/yy}',DateAdd( CDate('12/31/'+Report.FormatYear(@StartPeriod)), 'y',-1))
However, since you can only use a numeric value re: Offset Year / Period in the Data Source options, I can use some help in getting the correct data to be displayed in the column without having to change the reports at the beginning of every year.
I think a screenshot would still help me to "see" more clearly.
But I think I get what you are trying to do. You want to fix the month (ie December) but allow the year to be variable based on when the user ran the report. Is that correct?
You might try something like this:

Or even combine it with a year offset like this:

Tim,
SWEET!!!! Didn't realize you could use a partial for the Start and End Period - thought you could only select from the list of Financial Periods. Combination of Start/End Period and Offset Year works perfectly! Thanks!
Cool, glad to hear that worked. If you're able to share a screenshot of your report (with the numbers modified of course) I would love to see it. I'm currently building a video training course for the financial report writer that teaches by example. The more examples I have, the better.
