Acumatica AI Webinar Notes

April 17, 2025 by Tim Rodman

Here are my notes from an Acumatica Webinar on April 17, 2025 which gave an update on all of the AI things that they are working on.
Transforming ERP for the Intelligent Business Era

I’m about to start this webinar on Acumatica AI: Transforming ERP for the Intelligent Business Era

Webinar run by Stacey Reitz, Doug Johnson, and Miten Mehta

What enables better performance in a company. First and foremost is data.

Data enables Insights and Forecasting

Other stuff is important too

Not AI that is bolted on, but AI first, at the center of everything that you do

Intelligent Advisors – Making suggestions in-context based on where you’re at

Interactive Assistants – Humans interacting with AI to get stuff done

AI Automation – AI working on its own to get stuff done

Starting with Intelligent Advisor, using Anomaly Detection to illustrate

POTENTIAL ANOMALIES Widget added to AP Clerk dashboard

Using a Generic Inquiry for Sales Order Margin Analysis. Setting Field for Analysis to Margin (%) and Date Field for Timeline to Date

Why Date Field for Timeline is important

Grouping by Inventory ID. Normally set Update Frequency to Daily , but using On Demand for demo purposes

Running the anomaly detection

EXECUTE NEXT STEP puts the Status into Calculation in Progress

Here’s what the anomaly detection kicked out. It found a couple of expense reports.

Red Roof Inn for $555 looked a little high

Now it’s ready to download

Some Sales Order rows have been flagged

Can filter on Significant anomalies

You can enable anomaly detection starting in Acumatica 2024 R2

This button pops up the AI assistant

Interacting with the AI Assistant

Now for AI Automation which enables code-free customization

This is where the AI Studio comes into play

The AI Studio powers the Generate Closure Notes button

AI created much better closure notes for us to review so we can take a look at them and make modifications

After clicking OK, the closure notes on the Case get updated

The AI Prompt Editor allows us to write Prompt Instructions and connect to an LLM Connection that’s “within the fence” so it’s not sending private data out to public LLMs

Here’s another example of a prompt that references a website

The AI Studio is currently in beta and not available yet

Here are some examples of how to use AI in the real world

Here’s the architecture of Acumatica’s AI and Machine Learning

Key Principles of Innovation that govern Acumatica’s approach to AI

Here’s where the various things are at in terms of development

Now for Questions and Answers

Will AI Tools be included with an Acumatica License?

They are still working on pricing, but it will be consumption based pricing and each feature will have its own pricing situation.

Can I use ChatGPT with Acumatica?

ChatGPT is not being used for security purposes, but similar LLMs are being used

Do I need to train Acumatica AI to know about my ERP data?

Your ERP data will already be integrated using RAG, but you can write prompts that even include outside data like websites

Goodbye everyone
