What is the best practice of disconnecting Velixo connection so the data remains? I have built a reporting package that I need to share to non-velixo users. What is the best way to sever the connection so the data remains as values so that the workbook can be shared with other? Currently if connection is not broke all the data disappears when opened by non user. So currently have to copy and past values but wondering if there is a better way as I would like to retain some standard excel formulas in the workbook if I can.
You can also use the « Copy Workbook without Formulas » button in the toolbar if you just need to create a quick copy. The « remove Velixo formulas only » option that is available in this menu and thaf you also see in the distribution list screenshot shared by Brent above means that standard Excel formulas like SUM(), addition, division, etc, will be kept (it’s smarter than a Copy/Paste as values)
Lastly - in most cases Excel shouldn’t automatically recalculate a workbook unless you have volatile functions, and someone that opens a file without Velixo installed will normally see the previously calculated values. It’s only when modifying something that Excel will recalculate. We’ve seen odd cases where Excel still decides to do it, usually I narrow it down by removing sheets from the file until I identify the culprit.
