I've heard about this new Financial Report Writer in Excel called Velixo Reports.
Does anyone know where I can go to download it so I can try it out?
Hi Fozzie,
Yes, at this point Velixo Reports is free and you can download it on GitHub. Go to the releases page (click here), then choose the most recent VelixoReports.msi file (the most recent version is at the top).
The VelixoReports.msi file is pretty small to download at this point, only a few megabytes. After you download it, just double-click it to install.
Check the I accept the terms in the License Agreement box and click the Install button:
The installation will do its thing:
When it's done, you can check the Launch Excel box and click the Finish button:
Once Excel launches, take a look at the top and you should see an Acumatica item on the ribbon:
You can click over to the Acumatica ribbon and note that you should have two buttons there: Refresh All and Connection Manager:
Also, you should see Velixo Reports for Excel and Acumatica (with a version number) listed in your regular Windows programs area.
Finally, for new versions, you don't need to do anything. When Excel opens, it will check for new any new versions of Velixo Reports.
If it finds a new version, you will get a window that looks like this:
Just click the Update button to automatically install the new version. It will begin downloading and installing right away:
That was an easy process. Everything installed without any issues. I'm up-and-running.
Just so you know what versions of Windows and Microsoft Excel I'm running.
I went to my start menu, searched for "System", and selected this program:
And this is the information that came up:
Then I went into Excel and went to File -> Account to find my version of Excel
