What do you think about the new Acumatica Community website?
https://community.acumatica.com

What do you think about the changes being made to AUGForums.com as highlighted in this blog post?
https://www.augforums.com/augforums-com-vs-the-official-acumatica-community

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Well, I guess "read" your thoughts. I mean, not "read your mind", but read what you type on this Discussion Topic.

Tim, I think you're right in both (a) there is room for more than one community and (b) the growth curve for ERP. In my view, the purpose of an independent community is more about providing a place for recommendations that AREN'T solved by buying more licenses from a publisher ( or only hearing about endorsed publisher ISV solutions).

On the Sage side, we created an entire group largely founded on those who participated in an official forum.

There's definitely room for more than one forum/community. It's the old "if you build it ( and add value ) they will come" rule at work.

Good point @smbwayne about how the 90 Minds conferences were largely founded on those who participated in the official Sage forum, yet still found a need for an additional independent group.

Good call on adding focus to AUGForums. Reporting is a big interest of mine so I know I'll stay active here. Looking forward to keeping the conversation going and building a micro-community of other reporting nerds.

@arline-welty you're always good with terminology. "Micro-community" is a good way of putting it. Makes me think of "micro machines" as a kid for some reason; smaller cars but bigger fun.

Doesn't hurt to have 2 support forums to ask for help/provide help where possible

@michael-barker agreed. If Coke and Pepsi can both coexist, why can't AUGForums.com and the new official Acumatica Community Forums?

I'll be here as long as I can still post crazy GI gymnastics!

@wyatt-erp I always learn something from your posts. Looking forward to learning more form you in the future. I think I need to do an entire blog post on "The Wyatt.ERP Technique" rather than just burying it in this post:

My view so far of the other forum is people aren't as friendly or appreciative of the assistance received.

@roycelithgo Good feedback. It's too early to know for sure what will happen, but I kind of had a hunch that would be the vibe, similar to StackOverflow, where the focus is on "gamification" of the community and right/wrong answers. More of a mechanical feel, not quite as friendly. But I'm sure you'll get better answers there since more Acumatica employees are involved.

Going narrow and focusing on the reporting tools here was the only way I could think of to stay motivated now that there is an official community, but maybe we'll fire back up the other modules here again in the future. I just want to give it a year or so before considering that.
