It is common in the retail world to run operationally by a calendar called a  retail calendar but for other financial reports product by a regular monthly calendar. Does anyone know of a financial report writer that can produce Acumatica financial report by either specific dates or by period?

Of course Acumatica's ARM reporting only produces by period

You'd need to setup an Actuals ledger with a daily calendar, in other words, a calendar where each period is one day only. This is a common requirement in banking and i've done this before many time but with a different ERP. Not sure if this can be done in Acumatica, but this might head you in the right direction,

Thanks Royce. Good idea...but I'm just thinking of all the other areas in Acumatica that are period dependent like AR and AP reports

I think you're comparing transactional reports vs Ledger based ARM reports. You could write reports using Report Designer and build a suitable query to aggregate Journal transactions but it may have performance issues depending on your volume of journals. And you'd also need to deal with things like reverals.

Here is a Profit and loss for a date range made in report designer.  Not sure if you would need a balance sheet but I think that would be too hard to do , but hopefully this one will help you

Hi Bob,

Velixo Reports can do this -- here's a demo I shared with another user earlier today: https://recordit.co/zWRYKIQrGu. You can see the balances change and how drilldown works when using date ranges other than a period.
