Once a production order status is set to "Completed", there’s currently know way to reverse the order back to the previous status "In Process". Is there a way to create a back-end automation to reverse a production order?
One of the issues as to why we’re looking for a solution is when the following variables are in play with a production order:
- Status is “Completed”
- All released material was returned back to stock (performing a negative material release)
- A quantity amount of “Qty to Produce” amount is either equal to or greater than the “Qty Remaining”
In addition when a production order has the above noted variables, a demand remains on the BOM components. This obviously present other issues with inventory summaries, reports and MRP.
Going forward, maybe there’s an alternative solution to minimize when the ACTIONS > Complete Order button can be available (alternatively grayed out) using either of the following conditions:
- “Qty to Produce” must equal “Qty Remaining”
or
- “Qty to Produce” must equal zero
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
What about using a disassembly entry to remove the completed items from inventory and return the materials to inventory?
This has been an issue for me since day #1, and is the main reason that I dislike Acumatica. In any other system I've worked with, one can re-open a production order (even in 'closed' status) to make corrections.
Does the disassembly process work when a job is closed?
