For an uninterrupted service to be possible for personnel in remote field locations, Internet connectivity can be a challenge. To circumvent this the need to have a Mobile Application that could enable the user to work Offline even without Internet is a welcome change. This is brought about by downloading the required sets of Data onto the User's Mobile Device and being able to process service orders and appointments in offline mode by using the required data on the device. Potential areas where the offline capability can come in handy are Field Services, Field Sales, Warehouse Operations and Construction.
Developing User Centric Mobile Applications with a lot of design thinking will make the Mobile Application User experience a much better one when compared to the same user using a Web application on a Mobile Device with a paraphernalia of functions which can confuse the user to a large extent.
Being able to customize and further enhance the Mobile Application with more functionalities is always possible as the Business Functionalities grow over time.
And most importantly is for the Mobile Application to be able to easily integrate with the Acumatica Backend and enable smooth Data downloads from Acumatica ERP to Mobile Device and upload the processed data set back to Acumatica from the Mobile Device when Internet connectivity is restored.
Below are screenshots of an Offline Acumatica Field Service App powered by Orangekloud's eMOBIQ(TM) offered as a Standard product to the Acumatica Partner/ Customer Community. The App is used by any Business driven by services where the Field Service Engineer is able to download all the Appointments assigned to him by the Acumatica backend administrator. He would also be able to download the history of appointments tagged to the customer and equipment's, attach pictures, create a service fulfillment report as a PDF file with customer sign off.
Thanks for sharing. Looks interesting. Offline mobile access is a frequently requested feature.
Thanks Tim and building cross platform Mobile Apps with Offline capabilities using NO Code with a) faster development cycles and b) much smoother learning curves c) optimizing existing resources and reducing costs on Resources as well as infrastructure, hosting and maintenance are key takeaways here for consideration.
