Questions 2019 R1

Just made the jump from 2018R1 to 2019R1.  We skipped 2018R2, so some of what I discuss could be thanks to that version as well. 

I ran into the following:

• Sales tax integration with Avalara was refactored in SO and AR.  They removed it from SOOrderEntry and created it's own class SOOrderEntryExternalTax (similar with AR).  We had to adjust a customization to accommodate this.  Also, the tables holding the integration information changed, so if you have a monitor to make sure your Test environment points to the Avatax Sandbox instead of Production (oops! 😜) , that will need updated too.
• Having PO History tab on POs and Purchase orders tab on Purchase Receipts was very well received by the users. 
• Getting rid of UnbilledTotal from POReceipt was not.  The missing field required a few GI/Dashboard/Report tweaks.
• They killed off LIKE operator, we used in SWITCH and IIF comparisons in GIs
• Speaking of GIs, we noticed a lot for our filters having an issue comparing Decimal numbers when either Equal or Does not Equal to Zero.  Had to change a lot over to > 0 or < 1 to get the filters to work.  Some we ended up casting to strings and comparing to '0'.

These issues flew under the radar until after go live:

• On SO Entry, they changed the Contact Attention field.  It is now (actually) Attention, not Salutation.  We ended up moving values for Salutation into Attention for AR and SO Contacts and then updating Reports.
• Autocomplete in SO and PO Lines when entering an inventory CD will not recommend items that have no description (tested stock/non-stock).  We are on-prem and I ended up creating a DB trigger that updated the Descr field to an empty string instead of NULL to work around this until the issue is addressed. 

Overall, I feel the effort was worth it.  Our Controller was very happy with the additional Finance statuses and the ability to grant themselves the power to post into a Closed period but keep everyone else out and everyone liked the improvements to the Sidepanel and adding GI styles.
