My report writer now edits text boxes in wingdings (I think), but when I leave the box, it reverts back to English. Example:

Note that all the un-selected boxes appear just fine and when I click off this box it goes back to English. My assumption is that I fat-fingered a key somewhere, but I have no clue as to what I did or how to fix it. This isn't killing me, as I can edit things in the side panels, but still...Wingdings? Really?
Wow, this is bizarre. I guess the main thing I would wonder is whether it's a Report Designer setting or a Windows setting that got messed up. Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing Report Designer?
No dice. Just ran through a fresh install.
If it's not the writer, maybe it's the report? I've attached the report.

Works fine for me:

Could be a font issue specific to your PC. Perhaps a font that ReportDesigner needs is missing and it is resorting to what it thinks is the same family.
I checked the registry and couldn't find any specific settings for ReportDesigner. I also checked your report XML and all the font settings were size or style only.
Have you tried it on a different PC in your office?
Well snap, I was hoping it wasn't going to come down to my PC hating me. No one else has this installed, but I may go and test it out on another box. If it IS my machine, I've no clue how to proceed... Time for some Google-Fu!
Thanks much @royce-lithgo for helping me look into this.
I would try the usual system stuff, starting with sfc /scannow (from admin command prompt) - if you don't have admin rights, then get your IT people involved.
Windows has been pretty good for me the last few years, but this kind of thing makes me remember more difficult days with Windows. If it does indeed work on another computer for you, it might be faster to just reformat your computer.
