Is there any comprehensive documentation for the Report Designer?

I'm trying to do something that should be fairly simple but is seemingly impossible.

For example, if I lengthen the page header on a default form the additional length is not repeated on the following pages as is the rest of the header. I can't see what is different that just the additional length is not printed.

I am also struggling to understand how to suppress sections, section headers and section footers as nothing I see has an impact.

There's a course on Acumatica University on Report Designer:

https://openuni.acumatica.com/courses/reporting/s130-inquiries-reports-and-dashboards/

Regarding your Page Header issue, can you attach the .rpx Report Designer file here?

For suppression, are you trying to stop a section from printing always or stop a section from printing conditionally?

Thanks Tim

I have read through the user guide associated with that course and the material is very basic. What I was looking for was some documentation that helps take the tool and run with it to achieve some really powerful things. Basic stuff like sizing fields and adding a field from the database or adding a table to a report are really easy.

Some of the things I was looking to have documentation for are things like how to format a date in a particular format, how to have specific colours (not just the pre-defined colours), how to format numbers. And so on ...

Another example is: in the form I modified there's a style called 'Custom Data'. How do I modify and leverage that style to make creating forms and reports match a standard without doing it all manually.

In the end I have been able to figure out how to achieve the goal for this particular task.

There's a nice Formatting section on page 89 of that course PDF file talking about date formatting:

Page 118 mentions style templates which allow you to define reusable styles. You can either define your own or use the out-of-the-box TemplateReport.rpx and TemplateForm.rpx ones:

I'm slowly working on a way to deliver something called AUG Courses which would be comprehensive video training courses with a student login and a way to track your course progress, all delivered in bite-sized 5 minutes video segments that are designed to play well on mobile or your computer. The first course would be on the Financial Report Writer and the second course would be on Report Designer. Someday I'll get there...
