If you are not getting a numeric value to post after your normal invoice lines, we can find the issue. However if you are seeing a single number appear after your lines then I think the following will be of use:
I think your issue may stem from not understanding how the "groups" work. If you did as Tim showed you (and your pictures suggest you did) then you're pretty much done. What you need now is a way to display all that data.
You've created a group on the inventory ID, so any line from any invoice that has matching inventory IDs will be grouped together into a single line. In order to get the data you want, you need to choose how it is shown on the line. This is where we apply aggregates: MAX, MIN, SUM, AVG, etc.
Tim has given you an aggregate from a single field from the group which reads as: "The sum of all quantities" for the group (Inventory ID). Nothing else has been selected to show up. As an example lets say you have 3 invoice lines going into the report and each one has the same inventory ID. You will see FOUR lines of information: 3 for the individual invoice lines and 1 for the group. The normal lines will display all the fields selected in their segment of the report "detailSection1", but the line for the Group will just display a numeric value (The sum of all the quantities for the Inventory ID) AFTER all the regular invoice lines as shown below:
Regular Line: Item A - Qty 5 - Other Info
Regular Line: Item A - Qty 7 - Other Info
Regular Line: Item A - Qty 10 - Other Info
Group Line: Qty 22 - NO OTHER INFO
For readability, you'll probably want something like "inventory ID" in the Group's segment, or something saying "Total: " before your values are displayed.
Excellent explanation Michael. Thank you.
I think we may have misunderstood what I want. Thanks for your help. I may find another way to show that report. Anyway, very thanks for your help!
Hi Zanata,
Maybe if you could mockup the report that you're trying to create in Excel, then take a screenshot, it would be easier for us to see what you're trying to achieve.
