I have wondered for some time when you copy and paste a GI and or import/export it causes certain errors; such as, "There are multiple nodes in the site map for this screen that have different screen IDs: ." or it shows the name of the previous GI that the new GI was copied when you view the results of the GI. Does anyone else have this issue or am I doing something wrong? I also went into the site map and changed the screen ID to something obscure and still, nothing has changed.
Hello,
I never had any issue on copying any GI by export and importing it back so far.
Just make sure the file was not corrupted when you first export it.

Yep I have issues all the time. The worst used to be when exporting from one tenant and importing to another, sometimes the node in the site map where it was imported to was wiped out and i'd have to recreate it. That issue appears to have been resolved now and instead when importing, it puts the GI on a node off the root node of the site map and i then have to move the GI from that to the correct location and delete the empty root node.
For copy and paste, I would usually delete the site map fields, save the GI and then add it back to the site map to hopefully create a new ScreenID different from the original one.
I wish they would fix these issues so copy, paste & export, import are more predictable. These days I often make the changes to the same GI multiple times (in test and then live Tenant) rather than export, import just because I have more confidence that the site map in the live Tenant won't get messed up!
