Hi Tim!
I hope you are doing well! Looks like the ARC is really starting to pick up. So happy we were lucky enough for you to put this together for us.
I was hoping you could help on this one. I have been working on building an inquiry that can contain the data to build the report below.
This report was done in report designer, but does not seem to be accurate and working properly, which is why I would love the have a generic inquiry built for it instead of having to mess with the build schema. If you need me to show pictures of the schema I can do that as well.
Thanks again Tim!
Hi Potato_Ghost,
I love the scribbles on your screenshot.
Would you be able to attach the Report Designer report (I think I finally got Attach Files working)? Then I can take a look at the Build Schema area.
Thanks Tim!
Unfortunately I can not attach a .rps file 🙁 But I did email it to you! Let me know if this file type becomes attachable, and I will be happy to do so!
Hi Tim!
The .rpx file did attach just fine! Please let me know if you have trouble getting into it.
Hi Potato_Ghost,
Just wanted to let you know that I did look at this, but it's a little over my head. I don't understand the flow of the Projects module well enough yet to be comfortable crafting reports or inquiries based on the data. Also, I haven't been that motivated to get familiar with it because I know that it's a steep learning curve and I knew that some major changes were coming to Projects in the latest Acumatica 2017 R2 version.
Hi Tim!
That is alright. I appreciate you taking a look. I actually was able to create a Generic Inquiry that works pretty good for what we need it to. I attached the xml file of the Inquiry I built. It seems to be working just fine, except I have a column that tells me which invoice number a time entry is on if it was billed to the customer, and that field is only accurate past the time we upgraded our Acumatica. They had changed the way some of the tables relate to one another, so I could either have the invoice numbers for past time entries, or up to date ones, so I had to choose the up to date ones. I also had to do a bit of cleaning the data in Power BI to get it just right, but we have our report that tells us who needs to approve time, and what time is available for us to bill to the customer. I appreciate your time though Tim!
Awesome. Glad to hear it.
Hopefully Projects settles down in the next 1-2 years so there won't be too many backend tables changes, meaning better data consistency.
