Love the dashboards and the salespeople who I am creating the dashboards for love them to compare their monthly and yearly (fiscal) sales. The only issue that the company is having with the dashboards is that it then leads the salespeople to a generic inquiry table where they can export information about their sales and customers. While the information is good for the visuals, we do not want the salespeople to be able to then take into excel all that information to rearrange and then take to a competitor. Is there a way to take away the excel button here? I have removed it from other screens for this reason, but can’t find it for GI’s.
Hi Scooter,
Great question, and you aren't the first to ask it. Here is someone asking the same thing on LinkedIn (click here).
As far as I know, currently this is not possible. The reason is that all generic inquiries are defined through the Generic Inquiries screen and governed by the GenericInquiry.aspx code at run-time.
What we really need in my opinion is a feature on the Generic Inquiry screen that allows us to control which security roles have access to the Export To Excel button for each generic inquiry. Then you would be able to control access to the Export To Excel button not only on a per generic inquiry basis, but also on a per user basis.
I created a feature request here that you can feel free to go vote on: https://feedback.acumatica.com/ideas/ACU-I-1293
Ah, interesting. I hope people go and vote on this. I would go and vote, but I'm just a Muppet, not a real person 🙂
I see someone else has posted this same idea. Same Idea 6 years later.
Another chance to vote on it.
disable the export to excel functionality for user role | Community (acumatica.com)
I hadn't seen the above one and recently voted for it after I found it.
The below idea was to allow for restricted group functionality on the export function by tenant or a more granular level
New Restricted Group on Exporting of Data - Row Level Security | Community (acumatica.com)
I will look for the idea previously shared and vote.
Please vote on these ideas.
Matt
