If I have created a generic query and added it to my sitemap, is there a way I can automate the export to excel of that generic query without having to login every day and press the 'Export to Excel' button?

We are trying to create something similar to a cron job to run at COB that will export the generic query report as an excel file into a specific folder on our network. Our backend dev has created a script that will login directly to the generic query page and I have created a javascript that will automatically click the button upon that login, but it still leaves us trying to set a destination of the exported file.

You can reference your generic enquiry from an export scenario to produce a scheduled file creation.

Than use file sync to transfer the file to a FTP directory.

Trigger both steps with automation.

I do not know how I would begin that process. Could you provide some screenshots on how to begin the referencing of a generic inquiry from an export scenario to produce a scheduled file creation?

I think this is a perfect scenario for Power Update. You can download the application for free and test it with one Excel file. If you want to automatically refresh multiple Excel files, it's a one-time fee of $500.

Power Update can even refresh an entire folder, including OneDrive folders.

Ah, sorry, my bad, I skipped a step.

Checkout this post for more info about how to connect to a Generic Inquiry from Excel:

It's a little different if you're using Excel 2016. They just moved the location a little like this:

And the authentication menu looks a little different like this:

But otherwise it's the same process as in the first post.

Thank you Tim. Acumatica is very robust and the documentation on how to perform certain functions is very vanilla from what I have read.

Power Update is actually a 3rd party tool that has nothing to do with Acumatica. Acumatica just makes data available in the OData format which can be read by Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and other Business Intelligence tools.
