Hello! I am trying to add a custom report as a dashboard since I cannot get the same info needed from a GI. Is there a way to add the report created in Report Designer as an embedded page and NOT having to click 'run report'? There are no parameters required so that isn't necessary but I want it to display the report straight away w/out the user having to choose Run Report. Silly, I know. I don't like the way the pivot table looks I created in Acumatica and I also created an Excel online worksheet complete w/ pivot table and charts, but ultimately I really want it in report designer for consistency. Is it possible using automation steps?
Thanks!!
Interesting idea Kristi. I'm not sure how to do it though without having to press the RUN REPORT button.
When you launch a report off of the REPORTS menu of a screen (like REPORTS -> Print Sales Order/Quote on the Sales Orders (SO301000) screen), it automatically runs and puts the parameter information in the ADDITIONAL SORT AND FILTERS area of the report. But I'm not sure how to get the same behavior on a Dashboard unfortunately.
I reached out to Acumatica Support wondering if they knew something I don't know and it isn't possible. However, this forced me to become familiar with Power BI and have created some great tiles and live pages I am able to add to the dashboard. I needed a report because the GI functionality wouldn't work for what I was trying to accomplish. Using Power BI I was able to get what I needed plus some and it looks beautiful.
PS- I followed several of your tutorials for Power BI to make it possible. Thanks so much for all the info!
Glad to hear that you got into Power BI. You won't regret it 🙂
Does it require a Power BI Pro subscription to use? I just signed up to Power BI and automatically MS enrolled me in a 60 day Power BI Trial.
It should still be free for one person, just paying when you share with others. See screenshot below which came from this website:

So for use on Dashboards, each user would need to sign up with Power BI under their own account and then i could configure whatever is needed in their Power BI account and link it to their Dashboard and there shouldn't be any Power BI charges?
Kristi, just to confirm Tim's post, are you using a Free or Pro Power BI?
