Questions Adding a Widget to a Dashboard

Ok, good, because it's a lot easier in 6.0 and later.

You should have a DESIGN button in the upper right-hand corner of the dashboard.

Then you can scroll down until you see a section that looks like this and click the add a new widget link

However, if you don't have the DESIGN button, then it's probably because you are not in the security role that is specified as the Owner Role on the SYSTEM -> Customization -> MANAGE -> Dashboards screen.
