Hi Kermit,
A Shared Filter is something that you can put on a Generic Inquiry.
To do that, you go to the Generic Inquiry and click the Filter Settings button highlighted here:
Then put in some filters. Maybe something to find "Active" customers or Invoices greater than $10,000. Something like that.
Once you have your filters in place, click the SAVE button like this:
Give your filter some kind of name in the Enter the filter name here field like this:
Don't miss this last part. To make this a Shared filter, you need to check the Shared box, then click the SAVE button on the bottom like this:
Now, you should be able to go back into Widget Properties and you'll see your Shared Filter in the drop-down like this:

Ah, I see now. I was thinking that a Shared Filter was something you do within the Dashboard. Looks like it's something that you do on the Generic Inquiry instead. Thanks!
