Our client has an serialized item that is part of a kit that is shipped to the customer. Since it is serialized the kit has to have a serial number too. The nature of this part is means it can be recalled. The client needs to track the part from receipt to the customer and be able to locate them when a recall notice is sent. I am thinking this is going to be a GI but I am not even sure where to start. Anyone tried this before?
I've written GIs to lookup Lot Nbrs on Inventory transactions. Nothing particularly complex about them. Just build the GI as you would any other GI - find the data classes by Ctrl + Alt + Click on the relevant page and go from there.
If you have a specific question about your GI, I would need more details, screenshots etc.
