One item that has come up for our prospects and internally is the ability to have linked or related items. I.e. in Canada if you sell computers, batteries, monitors, etc. you also need to collect an environmental fee. This fee varies from province to province (as it's collected and remitted to different agencies). It would be nice if when you selected an the base item (i.e. the computer) and added it to a PO or SO you would automatically get a second non-stock item added for the relevant environmental fee that was also linked to the location of the seller or recipient (as required by the regulations)

One solutions we had thought of was using a kit and being able to "explode" the kit items on the SO/PO so that you would see the base item and the environmental fee, but this functionality doesn't currently exist.

Here are some additional thoughts on this.

Internationally countries are adding various fees to the selling of new products.  These flat fees comes in various forms and are used to pay for the future recycling of these products.  As many contain hazardous materials and at the end of the products useful life will have to handle.

These fees may be called:Levys,EHF (Environmental Handling Fees), VRF (Visible Recycling Fees)

Examples of this sort of fee can be seen in European, Canadian and United States (California and Washington)

In Canada, these fees are called Environmental Handling Fees (EHF).

Examples Include: electronics, batteries, tires. Containers (Pop, Milk)

These fees can be layered and may or may not be taxable.

In some case legislation may require them to be visible.

This amount could be carried as total, or a separate Line amount with all fees included.

What is being ask for is a way to add fix fees conditionally at the item level.

An approach to this might be:

Add onto the item master  

Fields EHF = Yes/No

Flat   Fee = $999.9999
