It doesn't matter new or existing assembly, you still need to locate the Stock Component record by Inventory ID (F15503, 15503-PICK) before updating the location. You can use my IS concept but you need to set it up right to do the record location by key field.
You need Stock Components.Inventory ID in your IS and you don't want the -1 record for Stock Components because you aren't inserting a new record in to that table, you are updating one.
That sucks, my data dump is blind to the components. I tested it though and it totally works! I'll just make a GI to dump my components and merge them into my file. Thanks for helping me @royce-lithgo. I've never targeted a line by it's inventory ID, I've always used line number to look at the segments. This opens quite a few doors for me.
