I had set up a new parent (consolidating) company before enabling Multiple Calendar Support in the Enable/Disable Features.
It doesn't have any transactions, and both companies share one tenant.
Company Financial Calendar got copied from the production company.
When I tried to delete financial years in the parent company, I received an error stating that I could not delete the financial period, which had already been used.
Do I need to delete the parent company and set it up from scratch?
I'm afraid the system won't let me delete the company for the same reason it didn't let me delete financial periods.
Thank you.
Problem solved. Steps followed:
1. Deleted the parent company, ensuring I got all the settings details (Access Role, GL Accounts, etc.)
2. Disabled Centralized Period Management on Enable/Disable Features (CS100000).
3. Enabled Multiple Calendar Support on Enable/Disable Features (CS100000).
4. Recreated the company from saved details.
5. Created Company Financial Calendar using periods from the existing Master Calendar.
6. Offset the first period to reflect parent company Year End.
