So with the 21R1 Upgrade our company is really pushing for use of Leads. However with this we want to prevent duplicates from occurring. We know about the Validation Rules, but we are curious if we can get it to run with Blank fields as well.
For Example, we don't want a lead to have Email left blank, and should block our users from entering it in, same as if the email was a duplicate. However even with a lead in our system with fields blank, the duplicate Validation does not catch it as being the same. Another example of this would be, if they had no Phone and no First name. We plan to set up that if certain fields are duplicated it will also block it, but only when they are duplicated in multiple fields. We want to prevent users from only inputting Last name and email and leaving all the other critical fields blank.
Is there any way to Override this so we can prevent our users from entering blank data into critical fields for Leads? We are not wanting to make the fields required as in some cases the lead will not have a phone to contact them, and that is ok, so long as the other critical fields are not also being duplicated in another lead.
